Absent WWE Star Reacts To Report About Current Status
Omos has addressed reports that WWE has “given up” on him.
While it seemed like the Nigerian Giant was set for big things in WWE, Omos has fallen off the radar in recent months. Besides an appearance in this year’s Andre The Giants Memorial Battle Royal, his last broadcast bout was a loss to Seth Rollins at WrestleMania Backlash back in 2023. The star hasn’t even appeared in the ring for live events since the end of March.
In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer was addressing the possible departure of Omos’ manager, MVP, when he noted that it appeared WWE had decided to give up on the colossal star.
“MVP (Hassan Asad), 50, hadn’t been used on television ever since they decided to take Omos off television. He had been doing house shows as the manager of Omos, who had been working with Akira Tozawa and Odyssey Jones to get experience as they hadn’t fully decided to give up on him. But they haven’t been at the house shows since early April.”
Omos has now taken to social media to address the report, comparing the journalism to tabloid gossip you might find in the National Enquirer.

MVP Makes Shock Appearance Outside WWE
While it seems that Omos isn’t going anywhere, MVP has confirmed that he is done with WWE. The star made a surprise appearance at GCW Bloodsport XI, where he confirmed his contract was about to expire and he wouldn’t be going back. He then challenged Bloodsport Founder Josh Barnett to a future match, which The Warmaster was happy to accept.
