Absent Star In WWE Contract Dispute
Contract talks between a former champion and WWE are ongoing.
On January 22nd it was reported that WWE had scrapped plans for Alexa Bliss to return to television. Not only that, any plans for her comeback had been placed on hold indefinitely.
Bliss had been due to return during a recent episode of Raw from San Jose, and she would have been involved with the Wyatt Sicks, but the plans were dropped. The group has since been moved to SmackDown. The report added that their future creative won’t involve Bliss.
According to one source, the changes were down to contract issues, although further details weren’t provided. Meanwhile, an update from Dave Meltzer noted that Alexa Bliss and WWE are “working out a contract deal.”
Alexa Bliss At Odds With WWE
According to a new update from Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Bliss was pulled from Raw after her representatives tried to initiate contract talks. It’s claimed these representatives insisted on a new deal before the star made her on-screen comeback, but the company played “hard-ball” and all plans for her were shelved.
The two sides have remained at odds since, and Bliss removed all references to WWE from her social media accounts on January 14th, the day after her return was dropped.
Bliss hasn’t been seen on WWE television since losing out to Bianca Belair at the 2023 Royal Rumble. While away from the company, Bliss gave birth to her first child as well as battling a series of health problems including skin cancer and what she’s described as “postpartum health complications.”
