Absent Ex-WWE Women’s Champion Teases Return

WWE SmackDown Women's Championship

A former WWE Women’s Champion that has not been seen in quite some time has teased that she might be on her way back to television.

Charlotte Flair is one of the most successful women’s wrestlers in WWE history. She is a six-time Raw Women’s Champion, and a six-time Smackdown Women’s Champion, she was the last woman to hold the Divas Title and also held the NXT Women’s Title twice. In addition to that, she was part of the first women’s WrestleMania main event in 2019 along with Becky Lynch and Ronda Rousey.

The last time WWE fans saw Flair in the ring was in May 2022 at the WrestleMania Backlash Premium Live Event. At WrestleMania one month earlier, Flair successfully held onto the Smackdown Women’s Title against Ronda Rousey, In their rematch at Backlash, Rousey managed to beat Flair to win the Smackdown Women’s Title in an I Quit match.

The last update on Flair’s potential return to screens came in October when Dave Meltzer wrote in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the star was scheduled to “return soon.”

In a story shared on her Instagram Charlotte Flair teased fans by sharing a photo of her wearing her wrestling boots again perhaps indicating a return to action is not far off.

Flair married her partner, AEW star Andrade El Idolo, during her time away from the ring and it was El Idolo that indicated that The Queen’s absence from WWE was down to “personal reasons.”
