Absent Big Name Backstage At AEW Dynasty
A former AEW World Champion is still in the background.
Bryan Danielson hasn’t wrestled since being destroyed by Jon Moxley and the Death Riders at WrestleDream in October 2024. In the run-up to the match, Danielson was open about the prospect of it being his last match as a full-time star and since the loss, he’s moved out of the spotlight.
While he stated he plans to wrestle again in the future, his physical condition, especially his neck, has caused several problems leaving those goals in doubt. While promoting All In Texas, he even admitted he’d be okay with never competing again.
During his time away from the ring, the star has remained active within the company and it’s been reported by Mike Johnson of PWInsider, that Danielson was backstage at Dynasty, although there was no word on what he was doing.
Fans Divided By AEW Dynasty Finale
In the AEW Dynasty main event, Jon Moxley and Swerve Strickland went to war over the World Championship. However, when all was said and done it was Moxley who retained the gold despite the incredible groundswell of fan support for Strickland.
Moxley snatched with win after The Young Bucks made their surprise return to blast Strickland with the BTE Trigger before heading into the crowd.
In the night’s other big surprise, FTR turned on Cope after the group failed to win the World Trios Titles. After the match, FTR viciously assaulted their one-time friend before he was taken from the ring on a stretcher.
