Absent AEW Star Still Under Deal With Company
While Dr. Britt Baker DMD and Jamie Hayter have continued to rule the top of AEW’s women’s division – until Double Or Nothing anyway – questions have been continuing to be asked over the status of their associate, Rebel.
As Dr. Britt Baker ascended to the top of the women’s division in AEW, she did it through her personality, in-ring skills, and charisma but by her side throughout it all was the ever-helpful Rebel.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer noted in March 2023 that Rebel was no longer being used on-screen due to Baker and Hayter’s switch to babyfaces in their ongoing feud with The Outcasts:
“Rebel is no longer being used. We were told that with Baker and Hayter as babyfaces now that it was felt she didn’t work as part of that act at this point in time.”
Fightful Select has now reported that Rebel is still under a deal with AEW despite not even being at recent shows. The star still works on her podcast with Conrad Thompson’s AdFreeShows where she hosts Rebel’s Happy Hour.
During her wrestling career Rebel also spent time in TNA/IMPACT Wrestling where she was associated with both The Menagerie and The Dollhouse. It was with the latter that she won a Lethal Lockdown match against Gail Kim, Maria Kanellis, and Velvet Sky at Lockdown in 2016.
