Absent AEW Star May Never Return
An AEW star might not return to television.
Kamille made her AEW debut in late July after reportedly signing with the company several months earlier.
The former NWA Women’s Champion immediately linked up with Mercedes Mone, acting as her bodyguard, but come November, the partnership was broken up. This saw Kamille mysteriously attacked backstage, and she hasn’t been seen on television since.
While many expected this to set up a feud between the star and Mone, Kamille’s rarely been mentioned on television. Prior to being written off, she wrestled just six matches for AEW.
Kamille’s AEW Career Could Be Over
During the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez suggested that Kamille might never return to AEW television.
Alvarez: “This person here says, what’s going on with Kamille and AEW?
Meltzer: “That’s a really good question. Man, I don’t know. They set that did that angle, and it just didn’t follow up at all.
Alvarez: “I don’t know if we’re gonna see her again.”
Meltzer: “Yeah, I wouldn’t be surprised.”
Alvarez: “She was mentioned once after it happened and never again.”
Meltzer: “Trying to think, yeah, they’ve mentioned it, but they haven’t mentioned it in the last week or two.”
With Kamille seemingly out of the picture, Mercedes Mone has moved seamlessly on, successfully defending her NJPW Strong Women’s Title against Hazuki on December 15th. She’ll now go on to face Mina Shirakawa at Wrestle Dynasty who will also put her Rev Pro Undisputed British Championship on the line.
Mone will first be back in action on Dynamite when she defends her TBS Title against Anna Jay.
