Absent AEW Star Clarifies Their Role In The Company

AEW

One AEW star that has not been seen in quite some time has given an update on their status in the company and confirmed their role changed since joining the promotion.

As Dr. Britt Baker ascended to the top of the women’s division in AEW, she did it through her personality, in-ring skills, and charisma but by her side throughout it all was the ever-helpful Rebel. However since Baker and Jamie Hayter began their babyface turn in early 2023, Rebel has not been on AEW television.

Now speaking to Taylor Wilde on her Wilde On podcast, Rebel clarified her role with the company after initially joining the company to do hair and makeup:

“I thought after I left IMPACT, I was like, you know what? Let’s try again and I started doing the hair and makeup and then got thrown in front of the camera again and at this point, I have now said, God, I hear you. I now know that your will for me is this. I’m going to accept it and quit fighting it and yeah, so I don’t do the hair and makeup anymore and just strictly on-camera talent and that’s what I plan to keep doing. I lost my passion for makeup and hair (laughs).

“I’ve had a ball at AEW and it’s a lot of fun, and I had a lot of fun at IMPACT too so, yeah.”

During her wrestling career Rebel also spent time in TNA/IMPACT Wrestling where she was associated with both The Menagerie and The Dollhouse. It was with the latter that she won a Lethal Lockdown match against Gail Kim, Maria Kanellis, and Velvet Sky at Lockdown in 2016.
