6’6″ WWE Star Poised To Challenge Cody Rhodes

Cody Rhodes WWE SmackDown

NXT champion Oba Femi and the WWE undisputed champion Cody Rhodes put on a scintillating match at December 15th’s Saturday Night’s Main Event in Washington, D.C.

The ‘Champion vs. Champion’ match between Oba Femi and Cody Rhodes saw both superstars going head to head in a night that saw WWE icon John Cena wrestle his final ever match before his retirement. A pumped crowd in Washington, D.C, cheered both superstars on as Oba Femi brought his strength-based offence against Cody’s contrasting agility-based offence. The match ended in a no-contest when Drew McIntyre interfered and attacked The American Nightmare.

The pair have been locked in a vitriol-filled personal feud for months now, and McIntyre was trying to get back at Rhodes for a previous attack the champion laid on him in his car. Things turned around, however, with Rhodes and Oba both attacking the Scottish Psycopath with Cody delivering the Cody Cutter to Drew.

The night saw some big names in attendance for John Cena’s final match, and notable among them was former WWE superstar, ‘The World’s Strongest Man’ Mark Henry, who was very impressed by the 6’6″ WWE star and Rhodes’ work together. He stated that he would love for the pair to have a match once again, but this time go all in and have the WWE championship on the line.

“As I sat ringside and watched Oba Femi and Cody Rhodes, all I could see was that match again for the title one day. But not just for the sake of showing champions vs. champions but for all the marbles. Maybe you see Cody Rhodes and Oba Femi for the WWE Title. That’s how impressive it was to see those two guys work. Looking forward to the future,”

Cody Rhodes is set to resume his feud with Drew McIntyre in the forthcoming days.
