64-Year-Old Ex-WWE Star Set For One Last Match
A former WWE star is set to take part in their final match at the age of 64.
As Cody Rhodes’ theme song says, “Wrestling has more than one royal family.” But in the southeastern US, there is perhaps none more royal than the legendary Armstrongs.
Led by their patriarch, WWE Hall of Famer “Bullet” Bob Armstrong, the family includes DX icon Road Dogg, Steve Armstrong, Scott Armstrong, and the late Brad Armstrong.
While Road Dogg is best remembered for his legendary introduction as one-half of the New Age Outlaws, Scott Armstrong will best be remembered by some fans for being a referee in WWE. However, Scott Armstrong was no slouch in the ring himself with runs in Smoky Mountain Wrestling and WCW to his name.
Now, Scott Armstrong is set to take part in his final match on July 12th at DCW: Pay The Piper II.

What Did Scott Armstrong Do In WWE?
Scott Armstrong joined WWE as a referee in 2006 as part of the relaunched ECW brand. His first notoriety in the company came in 2009 when WWE rehashed the Montreal Screwjob with Armstrong declaring CM Punk the winner in a World Heavyweight Title match against The Undertaker despite The Undertaker not submitting.
That ultimately led to Armstrong competing in the only WWE match of his career when CM Punk defeated him on SmackDown.
In 2013, Armstrong was the crooked official employed by The Authority to try and keep the WWE Championship away from Daniel Bryan. Armstrong tried to cost Bryan the title at WrestleMania 30, but failed in that endeavour. He was then knocked out by a debuting Sting at the 2014 Survivor Series, where again, Triple H tried to use Armstrong to sway things in his favour.
Scott Armstrong was released by WWE in January 2022, bringing his time with the company to an end.
