6 Year AEW Streak Finally Ends On Dynamite
One of the longest-running streaks in AEW has finally come to an end.
In late 2019, AEW introduced the world to the Dynamite Diamond ring for the very first time. The ring would be up for grabs in a battle royal where the two men left standing would then compete in a one-on-one match with the winner getting the very valuable prize.
MJF won the first-ever Dynamite Diamond ring when he defeated Hangman Adam Page, and The Salt of the Earth has kept an iron grip on the ring ever since, winning it repeatedly with wins over Orange Cassidy, Dante Martin, Ricky Starks, Juice Robinson, and Adam Cole, respectively.
But now, for the first time ever, it won’t be MJF competing for the Dynamite Diamond ring.
MJF Won’t Hold AEW’s Dynamite Diamond Ring
The December 17th edition of Dynamite saw the Dynamite Diamond ring battle royal take place, and the two men left standing were AEW National Champion Ricochet and former AEW Tag Team Champion Bandido. They will now clash on the Christmas Eve edition of Dynamite, with the winner claiming the ring.
That did not mean, however, that the absent MJF was too far away, as he made his shock return to the company on the show. MJF already had a title shot up his sleeve and decided he’d be cashing that in at Worlds End to turn the three-way match for Samoa Joe’s AEW World Championship into a four-way bout.
