5 WWE Stars Drew McIntyre Hates Named

Drew McIntyre

Drew McIntyre doesn’t have a lot of love for his WarGames opponents.

The Men’s WarGames match at WWE Survivor Series features a lot of wrestlers who are familiar with eachother. Many longstanding WWE rivalries in the WarGames match are current issues, but several also have deep pasts.

Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar will get to lock horns in the WarGames setting for the first time, but they have been wrestling eachother for over a decade on the biggest stages in the world.

Perhaps nobody in the WarGames match has more issues with the other side than Drew McIntyre. The Scottish Warrior had many huge matches with Reigns, which The Usos got involved in during The Bloodline days, while the McIntyre-Punk feud of 2024 was a classic, and over the last several months, McIntyre has tried to take the WWE Title from Cody Rhodes.

In an interview on ESPN’s Get Up, 3-time WWE World Champion Drew McIntyre said he’s looking forward to WarGames because of his rich history with all five of his opponents.

“For me personally I love being in this type of match because my opponents are literally everybody I hate. Roman Reigns has made my life hell for years, including his stupid family, his cousins The Usos are in there and I get to beat them up too.

We’ve got Cody Rhodes homelander, the current champion, he has screwed me out of the World Championship twice now. He’s had management suspend me so I can get my hands on him.

Then there’s CM Punk, the last time I was in a cage with him, he caused me to get 17 stapes right down the middle of my head. So I owe him. So I can’t wait to be in WarGames.”

Drew McIntyre Appreciates John Cena

During the same interview, Drew McIntyre also praised John Cena ahead of the 17-time WWE World Champion’s last PLE match at Survivor Series against Dominik Mysterio.

“He’s meant everything to our industry. When The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin left WWE, the top superstars like Triple H and Shawn Michaels were at the end of their careers; the company and the world needed someone to step into that top spot. John stepped up for multiple generations.”

McIntyre also expressed disappointment because he didn’t get to wrestle Cena in a match in Cena’s final year.

“It’s notable to say that he’s about to have his last couple of matches. I’m sad I didn’t get one of them, but I’m glad I’m part of the roster. I’m glad I got to travel the world. I’m glad I got to learn from John Cena because he is a performer, and he may just be the best of all time.”
