A former champion has addressed whether their WWE career is over.

Shayna Baszler officially joined the Stamford-based company after participating in the 2017 Mae Young Classic tournament. Over the next eight years, the 45-year-old competed on NXT, RAW, and SmackDown, and held the NXT Women’s Championship twice and the WWE Women’s Tag Title thrice.

Nevertheless, the former MMA fighter was released from her contract earlier this year, shortly after signing a contract extension. She, however, continued to work unofficially with the Stamford-based company.

The former Women’s Tag Team Champion occasionally worked as a backstage producer at NXT. She is also a guest coach at WWE’s Performance Center.

Is The Former WWE Star Done With Wrestling?

Following her WWE departure, Shayna Baszler wrestled a few matches on the independent circuit. In a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet on Insight, the 45-year-old commented on whether she was done with the Stamford-based company.

The former NXT Women’s Champion refused to close the door on a potential comeback. She pointed out that she does not believe she would ever feel ready to end her career.

Never say never in this business. I mean, weirder things have happened, right? If I get over with something crazy on the Indies or something, and I get an offer. It’s a strange question, because I don’t know that I’m ever going to be someone that’s like, Yeah, I’m ready to be done. I’ll always feel like I can go. [H/T: Chris Van Vliet]
