5-Time WWE Champion Ends 4-Year Losing Streak With Big Win In Paris

A five-time WWE champion has returned to the ring in the French capital after a three-month absence from the squared circle.

Melina had a legendary career in the wrestling industry between 2001 and 2022. Three years ago, the former WWE Women’s Champion stepped away from in-ring competition.

Nevertheless, she returned to the squared circle last May after almost three years of absence to compete in the Wrestle Nation Battle Royal on Pro Wrestling Society.

The 46-year-old took a step back for three months before announcing her return to the ring to compete at Drag Attack Divas in Paris. Ahead of her return match, Melina took to X to pen an emotional post.

Back in Paris 🇫🇷❤️ As a kid, I dreamed of this city. My 1st WWE trip here was so short it broke my heart—but Paris stayed w/me. Now I return, not just to enjoy the magic of France, but to wrestle again in the city where I won my 2nd title. Merci, Paris. Je t’aime. See you tomorrow @dragattackparis!

The former WWE Women’s Champion scored her first victory since 2021 when she beat Jazze Parry and JGU in a Three-Way match in the French capital.

Will Melina Ever Return To WWE?

Melina was released from the Stamford-based company in 2011. After almost eight years of absence, she made an appearance on RAW in 2019 for the RAW Reunion episode. She has since made several other sporadic WWE appearances, including a surprise return at the 2022 Women’s Royal Rumble.

In an interview with MuscleManMalcolm last year, the former Women’s Champion addressed the possibility of signing a Legends Deal with the company. She disclosed that money was not her priority, but freedom.

It’s not about the money. It’s about being able to be free to do what I want with what I was blessed with in wrestling.

While Melina has returned to action in Paris, WWE is set to hold Clash in Paris in the French capital this Sunday. Last night on SmackDown, a new title match was confirmed for the premium live event.
