4-Time WWE Champion Becomes Free Agent After Chris Jericho
Following the expiration of his AEW contract on December 31, 2025, 6-time WWE World Champion Chris Jericho is now officially a free agent and is free to sign with any promotion of his choosing.
Jericho wasn’t seen on AEW programming for the last few months of his contract, leading to fan speculation over his future, and he is now expected to sign with WWE in a few weeks.
However, it seems like he isn’t the only former World Wrestling Entertainment star who could return to the promotion this year, as a 4-time WWE Champion recently announced his departure from the National Wrestling Alliance on social media.
Former WWE star EC3 officially leaves NWA
EC3 has had two separate spells with the Stamford-based promotion, the most recent of which came to an end in 2020. After leaving the now-TKO-owned promotion, the former Derrick Bateman joined NWA in 2022 and spent a successful few years there before announcing his departure on X earlier today.

During his time in NWA, EC3 held the prestigious NWA World Heavyweight Championship for 370 days and also won the NWA National Championship once. Following his departure from the promotion, he is now a free agent once again and could be seen in WWE once again if the two parties are interested.
