Only 3 WWE Stars Could Beat John Cena Before Retirement
John Cena’s retirement tour in 2025 is nearing its end, with only a handful of dates left before he officially steps away from in-ring competition.
The tour originally mapped out 35 to 40 appearances, but as of September 9th, Cena has completed most of those, with about 7 confirmed dates remaining. Each event is being built around the theme of “Cena’s last time in…” with opportunities for fans to say goodbye in person.
One of these seven dates will see John Cena square off with The Beast Incarnate, Brock Lesnar, at Wrestlepalooza on September 20. The rest of his opponents are yet to be announced. While it is likely that WWE will book Cena to win most of his remaining matches, Sam Roberts shared that he’d like Cena to lose some of them.
Speaking on his Notsam Wrestling podcast, wrestling analyst Sam Roberts shared his preferred list of superstars who he’d like to see beat John Cena in his retirement tour. They are Dominik Mysterio, Drew McIntyre, and Bron Breakker.
The only two people that I’m comfortable with beating John Cena, I guess, there are three. I wouldn’t mind if Braun Breaker got a roll up. I wouldn’t mind if Dominic Mysterio beat John Cena, and I would really like to see Drew McIntyre beat John Cena.
Drew McIntyre with a Claymore, but I wouldn’t want all three of them to do it. Two of those three may beat John Cena. This is my rule now. Dominic Mysterio, Drew McIntyre, Bronn Breaker. And I’m starting to get shaky on Bron Breaker. (From 1:10:38 to1:11:00)
