3-Time WWE Champion Considering Wrestling Return After Break
A former WWE star has rediscovered their love of pro wrestling.
Saraya has been a free agent since leaving AEW in March 2025 after coming to an agreement with company President Tony Khan. The former Women’s Champion’s contract had six months to run at the time of her departure.
From the moment her exit was confirmed, Saraya has been linked with a return to WWE. It was with WWE that she first rose to stardom, and she’s known to have a strong relationship with Triple H. Furthermore, she’s previously confirmed that the company tried to re-sign her after her contract expired in 2022; however, she decided to join AEW.
Despite the speculation, the star said she would be focusing on non-wrestling projects until at least 2026, but was ultimately very vague about her plans for the future.
Saraya Linked With WWE Return
However, Saraya has now confirmed she will be getting back in the ring in a couple of months. While speaking to the Toronto Sun, Saraya revealed that she’ll resume training in January, after falling back in love with wrestling during her hiatus.
Interestingly, she admitted that her passion did wane following her departure from AEW.
“I’ve had a wonderful year to kind of, you know, dip my toe into the outside of wrestling world. And it’s been so wonderful, and I have loved it, and I have enjoyed it. But, you know, once you’re a wrestler, you always miss it.
I am starting to get the bug for it again. Because I went through a stage where I kind of, like, fell out of love with it for a second. And I’m just like, ‘I need to take a break from it.’ And that was the whole goal, you know?
But I’ve just found, like, this new love for it again. And I’ve found this new passion for it again. I’m going to get into training in January, and we’ll see where that takes me. Because I feel like I do — if I was to ever come back, not saying I am, but if I was to ever come back, I want to be at the top of my game and be wrestling better than I was wrestling back when I was in NXT. So that’s my goal.”
Although she didn’t officially confirm a comeback, Saraya did concede that the chances of a return are now much higher than earlier in the year.
“I miss it. I love it. I think the percentage of me going back is a lot higher now, you know? But we’ll see where it goes. We’ll see where it goes. Who knows what will happen?”
The former NXT Women’s and Divas Champion hasn’t wrestled since competing on the October 8, 2024, edition of AEW Dynamite.
