3-Time WWE Champion Unmasked On SmackDown

The tag team division on WWE SmackDown is filled with some of the most talented teams in the promotion. The division has massive teams like The Street Profits, DIY, and current WWE Tag Team Champions, Wyatt Sicks.

In addition to them, the Motor City Machine Guns, Fraxiom, and The MFTs can all be found on the blue brand. However, with so many talented teams, not every one of them can be involved in the tag team championship scenario. This led to some of the wrestlers competing for singles gold as well.

In the past few weeks, Johnny Gargano, Nathan Frazer and Axiom have all answered Ilja Dragunov’s United States Open Challenge. However, Tommaso Ciampa looked to challenge Dragunov for the title but instead the champ gave the title shot to 3-time WWE Champion, Axiom, which led to a tag team match between the two teams.

DIY defeated Fraxiom using underhanded techniques

The match was a visual spectalce with both teams being evenly matched throughout. Both Frazer and Axiom used their high-flying moveset to their advantage and remained in control of large parts of the match.

DIY did have their moments but were majorly on the backfoot and were on the verge of losing the match. Axiom performed a Spanish Fly on Gargano while Frazer took care of Ciampa. However, before Axiom could finish the match off, Candice LeRae intervened and pulled Axiom’s mask off, leaving his face exposed.

Unmasking a luchador is one of the most disrespectful things that can be done in professional wrestling and this left Axiom, who was hiding his face, unable to defend himself, allowing Gargano to pin the former NXT Tag Team Champion with ease.
