2nd Annual WWE NXT Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Announced; First 4 Teams Revealed

NXT General Manager William Regal announced the start of the second annual Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic on tonight’s edition of NXT on the WWE Network.

Regal made the announcement as he stood in the middle of an empty Full Sail University, since the segment was pre-recorded. He mentioned the success of last year’s tournament and that “The American Dream” would be proud of the tournament continuing. Regal also announced that the finals of this tournament will take place at NXT TakeOver: Toronto, the Saturday night before Survivor Series, on November 19.

In the next few days the bracket matchups will be revealed on WWE’s social media accounts. Sixteen teams will take part in this year’s tournament and four teams are already confirmed from tonight’s episode of NXT and WWE.com. Those teams are:

Bobby Roode & Tye Dillinger

Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa

The Revival

Andrade “Cien” Almas & Cedric Alexander

The first round will begin on next week’s NXT.
