A controversial former WWE star has admitted their time in the company was a blur due to their excessive drug use.

In April 2020, Patrick Clark – better known to wrestling fans as Velveteen Dream – was accused of sending indecent images to a minor, and this was followed by more allegations later that year. Clark denied any wrongdoing but was eventually released by WWE in May 2021.

The former star was arrested in August 2022 for First Degree Battery and Trespassing. He was arrested again just six days later on charges relating to possessing drug paraphernalia. This second arrest was reportedly tied to a conviction in November 2021 on drug-related charges.

In September 2022, EC3 alleged that Velveteen Dream left his phone in the bathroom in an attempt to film explicit videos of his colleagues without their consent while they worked for WWE. Furthermore, EC3 claimed that WWE was aware of the alleged offence.

Velveteen Dream Could Have Died Due To Heavy Drug Use During WWE Run

Speaking on Limpin Aint Easy, Velveteen Dream admitted that he used drugs heavily during his time in NXT, causing a lot of that time to be a blur when looking back:

I got into drugs pretty heavily in my time down there. A lot of that time is a blur… I wasn’t enjoying it because I needed to work. I needed to be successful.

He then noted that it was probably fortunate his WWE run ended when it did, or else there could have been a much worse outcome:

I probably would have died with the amount of drugs that I was consuming.
