The 2 WWE Hall Of Famers Bret Hart Blames For WCW’s Death

Bret Hart

Bret Hart is never one to hold back his opinions and now he’s named the two people he holds responsible for the death of WCW.

Bret Hart joined WCW following his infamous WWE exit at Survivor Series 1997. But despite being a five-time WWE Champion and one of the biggest wrestling stars of the era, he never found the same success in WCW that he did in Vince McMahon’s company.

Bret Hart Blames Big Names For Killing WCW

Speaking on the Attitude Era Podcast, Bret Hart recalled his famous altercation in the ring with Goldberg that saw him take a spear while wearing a steel plate. As The Hitman recalled, Hulk Hogan tried to change the angle as he blamed both Hogan and Eric Bischoff for the downfall of WCW:

The truth is that in the end, I remember that day when [Hogan] was trying to change it or cancel it or ruin the whole idea, Eric Bischoff … he doesn’t really know what the hell he’s doing. He never ever did. But I remember he could never do anything and told me I had to get everything approved through Hulk Hogan. And that tells me that Hulk Hogan was the boss over Eric Bischoff and Bischoff was just a frontman for Hogan.

Between the two of them, they killed WCW. You can put it right on Hogan or Eric Bischoff. They’re both accountable.

Bret Hart didn’t hold back on his assessment of Vince McMahon with recent comments recalling the moment he punched the disgraced ex-WWE Chairman in the face backstage.
