2-Time WWE Champion Allegedly Has Backstage Heat
The backstage status of a current SmackDown star is being questioned.
Chelsea Green is arguably one of the most entertaining characters on WWE TV. At Evolution, the former Women’s United States Champion recently competed in the Women’s Battle Royal at Evolution2, but failed to win.
Last night on RAW, one of the 34-year-old’s dream matches came true as she went head-to-head with WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella. Despite the match being the first for the former Total Divas star on the red brand in nearly 7 years, she scored a victory over Green.
After the match, Green and her Secret Hervice attacked Bella. However, Stephanie Vaquer, who had a confrontation with the two-time champion earlier backstage, rushed to the ring to save the wrestling legend.
While addressing Green’s loss to Bella on RAW, wrestling veteran Jonathan Coachman claimed on The Last Word podcast that the SmackDown star clearly has backstage heat.
Don’t tell me Chelsea does not have heat backstage. You’re losing clean to a person that hasn’t wrestled in eight years? What are we doing? But regardless of that outcome, I love Chelsea Green. [13:34 onwards]
Veteran Thinks WWE Writers Should Be Fired Because Of Chelsea Green
On Legion of RAW, former WWE head writer Vince Russo discussed Chelsea Green’s booking. He slammed the Stamford-based company for messing up what could have been a huge babyface turn for the former Women’s United States Champion.
Russo claimed WWE writers should be fired over that mistake because they allegedly failed to do their job.
They had her at the brink of being a huge babyface man and we’ve gone back, bro. Whenever characters go backwards, and I can’t tell you how many times we’ve seen that here, writers should be fired. It’s that simple man, because you’re not doing your job. You bring people to the brink. Once they’re at the brink, you don’t know what to do with them. So, they slide right back to where they were. And that’s exactly the spot that Chelsea Green is in now.
