2-Time World Champion To Retire Brock Lesnar From WWE?

Brock Lesnar WWE Smile

Brock Lesnar’s retirement from wrestling has been a subject of speculation for a while.

Since his second return to WWE in 2021, Lesnar has been a part-time performer, often participating in high-profile storylines.

He had not appeared in the company in any capacity since his 2023 SummerSlam match against Cody Rhodes.

Amid reports of him returning at the 2024 Royal Rumble, Lesnar suffered a setback when he was named in the Janel Grant lawsuit, which accused Vince McMahon of sexual assault and trafficking.

Lesnar thought it best to push back his WWE return before showing up during Night 2 of SummerSlam, where he attacked John Cena.

He also recently competed in the WarGames match at Survivor Series, where his team won against the babyfaces after Bron Breakker pinned CM Punk.

On December 13, 2025, Cena competed in his final wrestling match, losing to Gunther. With his appearances declining with each passing year, it can be assumed that Brock Lesnar may have contemplated retirement, too.

During a recent episode of his Story Time with Dutch Mantell podcast, the legendary manager picked a two-time world champion to retire The Beast Incarnate.

He claimed that due to the reputation that Lesnar has built over time, it is only fair that someone with a stupendous wrestling record retires him, while naming Gunther.

If I was going to have anybody beat him [Brock Lesnar] right now, it would be Gunther.

John Cena Accidentally Revealed Brock Lesnar’s Retirement Timeline

2026 is expected to be a busy year for WWE.

Before Crown Jewel, AJ Styles announced that he would be retiring in 2026. Meanwhile, there are reports claiming that Chris Jericho could return to the company after his AEW contract runs out.

In the midst of all the announcements and speculations, John Cena accidentally revealed that Brock Lesnar could retire at SummerSlam in Minneapolis, Minnesota, during an appearance in Chris Van Vliet’s Insight.

He’s a beast. It’s his first time back. I’ve been in this seat before. It’s like I’m always in the seat when Brock comes back, Rock after Miami, who’s the next guy? SummerSlam with Roman, here he comes again.

After he beats Taker for the streak, I’ve sat in this seat before. You have to figure out who gets the shine that night and if, in his return again, only my perspective. This attraction, where we are going to build until he goes into the sunset, which is, I think, in Minnesota? Creatively, it’s very soon. To create a mountain to climb for someone, you have to build the mountain.
