2-Time World Champion Will Reportedly Retire In WWE
A former two-time WWE Champion is seemingly set on retiring from the company amid speculation about their future.
After a career mainly spent in TNA, AJ Styles left that promotion to go on to even greater success in NJPW as the leader of Bullet Club. At the Royal Rumble in 2016, Styles made his shock WWE debut, and he has been a successful part of the roster ever since.
During his time in the company, Styles has captured the WWE Championship on two occasions, but questions had been raised over his future in recent weeks. Styles’ contract was believed to have been coming to an end during his recent injury layoff, but a new report has revealed that The Phenomenal One has signed a one-year extension to his deal.
AJ Styles Staying In WWE Until Retirement
Cory Hays of BodySlam.net has now reported that AJ Styles is planning to retire while in WWE. This could rule out any hopes AEW might have of signing the star in the future. Given WWE’s current partnership with TNA, it’s not inconceivable that Styles appears in the company where he made his name one last time before hanging up his boots for good.
