The 2 Things Tony Khan Needs For Women’s Blood & Guts In AEW

AEW Tony Khan

The women of AEW have never been afraid to get hardcore or shed blood and now Tony Khan has discussed one day having them in a Blood & Guts match.

When Britt Baker and Thunder Rosa went to war in March 2021 in an Unsanctioned Lights Out match, it proved to many that the women of AEW could get just as hardcore – if not more so – than the men.

The Bunny, Penelope Ford, Tay Melo, and Anna Jay stole the show in a tag team street fight in December 2021 as blood and guts were again on display but those words mean something very different in AEW.

Tony Khan Wants Women In AEW Cage

Speaking on the Battleground podcast, Tony Khan discussed the possibility of one day having a women’s Blood & Guts match and says he’d love to but it would need a story to make sense for it to happen:

At some point, it would be great to have a women’s Blood & Guts match. I think you need a lot of people tied in on [the] story, and a lot of healthy people. We have a great roster that we’re building up, and I think our women’s roster is stronger than it’s ever been right now today. And I’m really excited about that. So if we ever get to the point where we’ve got enough people tied together and the story makes sense, I think it would be great.

The double-ring cage match that is Blood & Guts will return on the 24th of July edition of Dynamite pitting The Elite against Team AEW. The Elite got their fifth man as Hangman Adam Page was backed into a corner to get what he wanted after losing in the final of the men’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament.

Mark Briscoe was the first member of Team AEW announced and on Dynamite Briscoe’s first partner for the brutal match was revealed.
