2 Ex-WWE Champions Officially Added To AEW Roster

Tony Khan AEW

A pair of former champions in WWE have now officially been welcomed to Tony Khan’s AEW.

Back in October 2023, the Grizzled Young Vets team of James Drake and Zack Gibson finally left WWE after their contracts with the company expired. Since then, the team have made waves on the independent scene again and enjoyed a spell in TNA.

In April 2024, the duo made their AEW debut in a losing effort against The Acclaimed on Collision. Since then, the English team have featured regularly in Tony Khan’s Ring of Honor as well as making more appearances under the AEW banner.

Their most recent match in AEW came on the August 23rd edition of Collision, which took place in Glasgow, Scotland, where they were defeated by the Gates of Agony.

Now, questions about the former NXT UK Tag Team Champions’ future look to have been answered as Drake and Gibson have finally been added to the AEW roster page.

AEW All Out Draws Near

The focus in AEW right now is all about All Out on September 20th in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Hangman Adam Page will defend his AEW World Championship against Kyle Fletcher, who has agreed to leave The Don Callis Family backstage for that match.

Adam Copeland and Christian Cage will team together in their hometown as they battle FTR. Toni Storm will defend her AEW Women’s Championship against three opponents, while Kazuchika Okada will also put his AEW Unified Title on the line.

Jon Moxley will hope to finally rid himself of Darby Allin when they clash in a coffin match, and MVP, Bobby Lashley, and Shelton Benjamin will hope to hurt people when they clash with the GOA and Ricochet.
