The 1 Bump That Left A Former WWE Broadcaster Whimpering

One former WWE broadcaster has revealed the one bump that they took in the ring and explained how it left them worse for wear.

Falling down for a living might look like fun but the reality is very different for WWE Superstars. Although it is usually left to the wrestlers to repeatedly throw themselves to the canvas in the ring, broadcasters in the company are also put through a bump class, just in case the worst ever happens.

Kayla Braxton Relives Traumatic WWE Bump

Speaking on the After We Wrap podcast, former WWE broadcaster Kayla Braxton relived her experience of taking a single bump and why it made her swear off ever trying to get in the ring as a wrestler:

So the announcers used to have to take a bump class just incase we were in the ring in our heels, we had to learn how to fall without getting hurt in our high heels. So I put on, I don’t know if you ever saw Tough Enough, but I put a Tough Enough helmet on to make sure I was all locked in.

Michael Cole was watching me with his camera ‘cos he he thought it’d be really funny to show everybody. Then I fell on my back and you have to tuck your chin, I didn’t tuck my chin so my neck snaps back. It felt like I got hit by a truck. I crawled away whimpering and that was the only time I ever took a bump.

Anytime someone’s like ‘Would you consider getting in the ring and wrestling?’ Haha no, absolutely not, it’s terrible.

It was in late June 2024 when Kayla Braxton announced that she was leaving WWE after eight years with WWE.

Kayla Braxton explained to two WWE Hall of Famers why she made the decision to leave and also ruled out a move to AEW.
