News: WWE NXT Halloween Havoc Lineup for Tonight, Reports of COVID-19 Positive Cases at WWE Performance Center

There’s a bigger than usual edition of WWE NXT television tonight with the NXT Halloween Havoc themed show. Before we get to that, there’s some news involving the NXT brand.

There were apparently more COVID-19 positive cases at the WWE Performance Center, which is where WWE runs their NXT shows at what they call the Capitol Wrestling Center. It was reported by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer that it happened on Friday and the people that were there (including those that tested positive or negative) were told to quarantine for two weeks due to contract tracing. The report notes that a WWE source said that “nobody that is an NXT television regular has tested positive” although it’s not known if that is true.

There are expected to be about 100 fans at the WWE Performance Center tonight and they were tested on Tuesday night in order to allow them to appear at the tapings today.

Tonight’s NXT Halloween Havoc show is likely going to be live or close to live at least.

Here’s the lineup for tonight’s NXT Halloween Havoc event while noting that the first two matches are “Spin the Wheel, Make the Deal” matches.

* NXT Women’s Championship: Io Shirai (c) vs. Candice LeRae.

* NXT North American Championship: Damian Priest (c) vs. Johnny Gargano.

* Rhea Ripley vs. Raquel Gonzalez.

* Haunted House of Terror Match: Cameron Grimes vs. Dexter Lumis.

* NXT Cruiserweight Champion Santos Escobar vs. Jake Atlas in non-title bout.

Some of those matches could be changed due to COVID-19 reasons. However, we don’t know what’s going to happen until the show airs tonight.

I’ll have a review of WWE NXT Halloween Havoc on Thursday morning.

TJR Thoughts: I think it’s possible that Candice or Johnny wins a title since they are getting rematches from the last Takeover event earlier this month. I think Priest is most likely to retain his title while Shirai losing might happen.
