TJR Wrestling

A new batch of classic wrestling content was uploaded to WWE Network today and it’s all about Extreme Championship Wrestling. Prior to ECW’s first pay-per-view, Barely Legal on April 13, 1997, the company put out supershows on tape and they really did a great job of covering what ECW was all about.

You can find these classic ECW shows on WWE Network in the section of PAY-PER-VIEWS and then click on ECW to find the show you are looking for.

Thanks to WWE Network News for the dates, names of the supershows and descriptions for what was added to WWE Network today.

TJR Thoughts: I remember these shows well. We didn’t have the original ECW broadcasts in Canada where I live, but we got it once it started on TNN. Anyway, I remember in 1998 when I got my first credit card when I was 18, one of the first purchases I made was from a wrestling tape trading site for these ECW shows. I’ve thrown all the tapes out now, but I remember getting them and being so excited to dive into learning what ECW was all about.
