News: WWE Draft Announced for Oct. 9 Smackdown and Oct. 12 Raw

It’s time to shake things up again. At least that’s what WWE Chairman Vince McMahon has said in the past when it comes to WWE changing the Raw and Smackdown rosters at various points over the last 18 years.

During last night’s WWE’s Clash of Champions pay-per-view on WWE Network, a commercial aired promoting the next WWE Draft on Friday, October 9th on Smackdown on Fox and on Monday, October 12th on Raw on USA Network.

What we don’t know right now is the format of the WWE Draft. Is it going to be like last October when WWE re-drafted the two shows from the beginning or will it be like in past years where WWE did more of a “Draft Lottery” where only some people switched shows while others stayed where they already were. We just don’t know right now.

WWE has yet to provide the details on the format of the draft, who may be picking the rosters for each show and so on. Why? Because it’s WWE. They are like to ignore details as much as they can.

All we know is that there are going to be some Raw and Smackdown roster changes starting on October 9 and continuing on October 12. The next WWE pay-per-view is Hell in a Cell on October 25, so it’s possible that WWE will wait until after the WWE Draft to announce matches for that show.

There was no mention of NXT in the commercial about the WWE Draft. There could still be NXT wrestlers moving to Raw or Smackdown while some Raw/Smackdown talent could be going to NXT.

Keep in mind that in WWE, any “rule” they have about being brand exclusive is hardly a rule and they can do whatever they want, whenever they want.
