Dean Ambrose officially moved on WWE a few weeks ago when his contract expired. Last week on May 1st, he also shared a new video where he was featured his old wrestling name, Jon Moxley. Today, it was announced that the former WWE star is going to be in a new movie called “Cagefighter” according to Deadline.

Ambrose will be using his real name Jonathon Good for the movie. The film is in pre-production. According to Deadline, the film “tells the story of a lauded MMA champion who unexpectedly loses a heavily promoted match to a professional wrestling star making his crossover debut in the MMA fighting world. Humiliated by the defeat, he must fight his way back to the top and earn his place for a rematch.”

The movie will star Josh Herdman, Michael Jai White, Gina Gershon, Michelle Ryan and Jason Maza. It will also feature UFC stars Anderson Silva, Georges St. Pierre and Alexander Gustafsson.

There’s also another wrestling tie-in because Jay Reso, better known as WWE legend Christian, will be an Executive Producer on the film. The director is Jesse Quinones.

The “Cagefighter” film appears on the Jonathon Good IMDB page here.

It’s not known when Moxley/Good/Ambrose is going to return to wrestling, but there have been reports that he plans on taking some independent wrestling bookings. He could show up at AEW Double or Nothing later this month too, but that’s just speculation at this point.
