News: Bray Wyatt Defends WWE Title vs. John Cena on Smackdown Live This Week

TJR Wrestling

It was announced during a commercial spot on Monday’s edition of WWE Monday Night Raw that Bray Wyatt will defend the WWE Title against former WWE Champion John Cena on Smackdown Live this Tuesday night in Anaheim, California.

Here’s how it is explained on WWE.com:

It has been announced that John Cena has invoked his WWE Championship rematch clause and will challenge The New Face of Fear tonight on SmackDown LIVE! So despite all the excitement surrounding the Chamber, at the end of the day, will it be The Cenation Leader lining up to face The Viper at The Showcase of the Immortals? Could Cena make history by becoming a 17-time World Champion and surpassing WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair? You want some excitement on The Road to WrestleMania? Come get some!

Cena commented on his loss on Twitter on Monday.

TJR Thoughts: Title change on Tuesday night? I doubt it. I expect Wyatt to retain against Cena in cheap fashion perhaps because of The Miz due to the rumored Miz/Maryse vs. Cena/Nikki match at WrestleMania.

What’s interesting is that AJ Styles was told by Shane McMahon he would get a singles title shot and he didn’t get that match against Cena. That means it could be Wyatt vs. Styles for the title next week. That’s just a guess on my part.
