Kota Ibushi Makes WWE NXT Television Debut

TJR Wrestling

Former IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion Kota Ibushi made his NXT television debut on last night’s (July 27) edition of NXT. “The Golden Star” defeated Buddy Murphy in a match that showcased Ibushi’s hard kicks and superb athleticism.

Ibushi’s NXT television debut was a bit of a surprise as apparently most people thought it was merely a dark match. Putting Ibushi on NXT seems to confirm the reports that he’s signed a new deal with World Wrestling Entertainment.

Mark’s reaction: Ibushi is my pick to win the Cruiserweight Classic and I’m so happy he’s a part of WWE. He’s so fun to watch and I’ve been a big fan of his for a while. He doesn’t have the charisma that Shinsuke Nakaura has (not many do), but he’s such an athletic specimen that his wrestling really does do the talking for him. I can’t wait to see more of Ibushi in WWE, hopefully for years to come.
