WWE News: Finn Balor Undergoing Medical Testing This Week; Could Mean Royal Rumble Return

TJR Wrestling

Finn Balor is undergoing medical testing this week that could lead to him returning to the ring, according to a report today from PWInsider.

This is great news if all goes well because it could lead to Balor making his return at Sunday’s Royal Rumble match.

In an interview with ESPN last month, Balor talked about a potential Rumble return: “If the day of the Royal Rumble, Vince McMahon says, ‘You got your gear with you?’ Then I’m sure I’ll be around. It’s not something I want to risk unless I’m 100 percent confident that this is 100 percent.”

Balor had shoulder surgery in late August and the rehab time was estimated at around six months, but other wrestlers with shoulder injuries (like John Cena and Cesaro) in the past returned after about five months. It would be five months for Balor.

I think this means his return is a strong possibility as long as he goes through the testing. It’s not like WWE is going to allow him back in the ring unless he’s 100 percent healthy. I also don’t think WWE is going to announce him officially in the Rumble either. They would want to keep it a surprise. Get ready for several days of Balor speculation.

Here’s an Instagram post showing a clip of Balor’s rehab. That’s what I do to get through a three hour Raw Deal review too! Okay so maybe not.
