WWE News: Brie Bella Retiring From Wrestling Earlier Than Planned
Could this be the end of the Bella Twins in WWE? It’s the end of at least one of them.
Pro Wrestling Sheet have just reported that WWE Diva and “Total Divas” star Brie Bella, will be retiring sooner than she originally planned. Her new planned retirement date is soon, very soon in fact: April 4th, the night after WrestleMania 32.
Pro Wrestling Sheet say that there is no bad blood between WWE officials and Daniel Bryan as the recent appearances he’s had to pull out from are due to a health issue. At the time of writing, it’s unclear what the issue actually is, but it is the reason why Brie wasn’t at Raw tapings this past Monday night.
This unspecified health issue is the reason why Brie is now bringing her retirement plans forward. She has gone on record saying she would retire over the summer. With this now brought forward, so can her plans on starting a family with Bryan.
The report also states that Brie will still be seen on WWE programming. She will still be starring on “Total Divas” and make the occasional appearance on WWE Network shows, but her in-ring career will be finished. She will also be given an ambassadorial role for the company.
Ski’s Take – Well this news came out of nowhere! The thing I’m taking away from hearing this news is that Daniel Bryan’s health issue is serious enough for Brie to bring forward her retirement plans. I sincerely hope that these issues are not as bad as they are being made out to be.
In regards to Brie herself, it is definitely the right time to go. With her sister losing the Divas Championship and off screen and rehabbing her neck surgery, it meant a new hungrier breed of women came through the ranks. To take the division to higher echelons and more validity.
Brie should be remembered with her sister for bridging the gap between the Divas of the past like Trish Stratus, Lita, Mickie James and the Divas of the future, Charlotte, Sasha Banks, Bayley and Becky Lynch.
