Seth Rollins Might Shock WWE Fans With An Early Comeback
Seth Rollins’ injury news hit the WWE Universe like a bombshell.
On October 11, 2025, during the WWE Crown Jewel event in Perth, Australia, The Visionary suffered a serious shoulder injury while facing Cody Rhodes. The injury happened when he attempted a risky coast-to-coast diving headbutt that led to a painful fall.
Following this, Rollins underwent surgery, forcing him to vacate the World Heavyweight Championship on the October 20 episode of Monday Night Raw. He had recently appeared on The NFL Network’s Good Morning Football and revealed that he would be out of action for six months.
“I wish, I wish I could rip this thing off. But I’m out, guy. I’m out of action for six months. My World Championship is going to be worn by some schmuck, either Jey Uso or CM Punk. It’s awful. It really is the Halloween scaries, guys.”
Seth Rollins Might Return At Royal Rumble 2026!
But here’s where it gets interesting. Despite the official six-month timeline, rumors and insider reports suggest The Messiah might make an earlier return. Wrestling analyst Sam Roberts hinted Seth Rollins could surprise fans by coming back sooner than expected.
Roberts said on NotSam Wrestling, “If it’s 6 months to the day, and by the way, Seth could be lying. I’m not going to say Seth’s a liar, but the last time he was injured, he was lying. So, there’s always the possibility that Seth is lying, but the information that we have in front of us is six months, which doesn’t put him back until right before WrestleMania.”
Plus, CM Punk is the new World Heavyweight Champion, and we all know how much Rollins hates his guts. So, this will be an extra level of motivation for him to recover faster and go after Punk to reclaim the title he never lost.
Royal Rumble 2026 would be the perfect platform to make a surprise return and win the rumble match to challenge Punk at WrestleMania 42. This angle has the potential to be a blockbuster storyline in itself, given the extensive history and bitter rivalry they share.
Seth Rollins’ previous dramatic injury fakeout earlier this year, when he screwed Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam, has fans cautiously optimistic yet hoping this time the comeback is legit. But the way, WWE has been blurring the lines between reality and kayfabe lately, anything is possible.
