Jey Uso To Betray Roman Reigns And Reveal Himself As Leader Of New WWE Faction? Exploring The Possibility

Jey Uso Roman Reigns WWE Money In The Bank

It’s no secret that Jey Uso shares a complicated relationship with Roman Reigns.

The Uso brothers had not willingly aligned with Reigns, but were coerced into it through a brutal “I Quit” match at the 2020 Hell in a Cell PLE.

Jey ultimately became his right-hand man, but despite that suffered manipulation multiple times, resulting in tense segments.

He betrayed the Tribal Chief after being part of the Bloodline for nearly three years during the June 16, 2023, episode of SmackDown. He also took Jimmy Uso with him.

It completed his transition into a singles competitor and rightfully cemented his “Main Event Jey Uso” moniker, during which he won the World Heavyweight Championship.

Roman Reigns, meanwhile, was on his journey, adding new members like Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, and Tonga Loa to the Bloodline.

He then suffered multiple betrayals, first by Sikoa and later by Paul Heyman at WrestleMania 41.

After a brief hiatus, the “Original Tribal Chief” returned to WWE on the July 14, 2025, RAW episode. He saved Jey and CM Punk from a beatdown by Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed.

While a reunion between the cousins has yet to be confirmed, it is never far from fruition.

However, this time around, it may be Jey Uso who turns heel only to align with Breakker, Reed, and Heyman.

What Could Be Jey Uso’s Motivation Behind Betraying Roman Reigns?

Since losing his world championship to Gunther in June, Jey Uso has reverted to a mid-card status.

Various critics and viewers of WWE have suggested a rejig to his in-ring persona, and what’s better than a heel turn; what better stage than SummerSlam?

If Jey betrays Reigns, he will need backup before it comes down to them throwing hands at each other once again.

Presently, Seth Rollins’ faction remains leaderless due to the Visionary suffering a legitimate injury during Saturday Night’s Main Event.

Jey is also a veteran and could easily be accepted as the faction’s leader with “The Oracle” Paul Heyman guiding them.

Jimmy Uso has suffered a similar fate, and Jey could bring him along for the ride.

As the leader, Jey could once again be in the world championship picture, while paving a path for Breakker and Reed to claim the tag team championships.

Similarly, Jimmy could chase the Intercontinental Championship down the line, and they all could bring multiple titles into the faction, as was the plan during their Bloodline days.

Also, Naomi, who is Jimmy’s real-life partner, is on RAW now and is the Women’s World Champion. She could gradually find a place in the faction.

While all this is mere supposition, the RAW and SmackDown shows leading up to SummerSlam could set the stage for an intense storyline.
