5 Things Santa Could Leave Triple H & WWE For Christmas
What would feature in Triple H’s Christmas letter to Santa Claus for WWE?
It’s the festive season, WWE has taped all of its shows until the new year, and all is quiet. So, why not imagine what Triple H might ask for Christmas to make his life easier and better in 2026?
Forgiveness From WWE Fans
WWE fans made clear what they thought of Triple H’s booking when they chanted “You f*cked up” at him following John Cena’s final match at Saturday Night’s Main Event. Cena had been the proponent of “Never give up” for over 20 years, but as his career came to an end, he gave up on that creed and meekly tapped out to Gunther.
Triple H took the brunt of the negative response to that moment, and he’s borne the brunt of the negativity to Cena’s retirement year as a whole. John Cena stunned the world when he turned heel at Elimination Chamber, but that moment aside, Cena’s final run was forgettable, and his heel run was quietly dropped ahead of SummerSlam as it simply wasn’t booked well.
With Triple H’s honeymoon firmly at an end in WWE, he could be wishing on a star to get back into the good graces of WWE fans in 2026.
No More Retirements
Triple H might also be asking that no more of his top stars call it quits in 2026, but he might be fighting a losing battle with that one.
AJ Styles has already made clear his intention to retire in 2026, and that has already been referenced in WWE storylines. It’s also been reported that Brock Lesnar could be calling it a day in 2026 and that if Chris Jericho returns to the company as expected, he could be part of a retirement storyline as well.
Three retirement storylines in one year is simply too many – especially given how Goldberg and John Cena’s exits were received. Triple H might just hope to have a year off from having to plan a big send-off for one of his top stars.
An Oscar For The Rock
Really. The Rock has been tipped for an Oscar nomination for his role as Mark Kerr in The Smashing Machine. While The Rock winning that monumental prize might raise a forced grin from The Game, it could work to his advantage.
If The Rock wins an Oscar, he’ll be the hottest name in Hollywood again and will be getting more cards and letters from people he doesn’t even know and offers coming over the phone like never before. That could keep him from bothering with anything to do with WWE, despite him sitting on the TKO Board.
The bad blood between Triple H and The Rock is well documented, and the Chief Content Officer might stand seeing his rival win the big one if he keeps getting to do his own thing, undisturbed, in WWE.
A New WrestleMania Main Event
WWE fans could be forgiven for thinking that they’ve seen WrestleMania all before in recent years. Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes faced off in singles matches at WrestleMania 39 and 40, as well as being on opposite sides of a main event tag team match at the latter show.
Seth Rollins, CM Punk, and Roman Reigns headlined night one of WrestleMania 41 before John Cena won his 17th WWE Title from Cody Rhodes on night two of that event.
It’s already been rumoured that Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes could complete their trilogy at WrestleMania 42, with CM Punk and Seth Rollins also being considered for that spot.
But fans want something new. And with Bron Breakker making huge waves on Raw, Gunther having two huge retirement scalps to his name and never being near the WrestleMania main event scene, the unstoppable rise of Oba Femi, and an entire women’s division looking to headline the show of shows once again, Triple H could quite happily give fans something different.
A New Match Type
Royal Rumble, Hell In A Cell, Elimination Chamber, Money In The Bank, once upon a time, these were all just ideas in someone’s head. Since then, they have become staples in WWE, despite one 24-year streak coming to an end in 2025.
NXT has brought some innovation to the masses through its Iron Survivor Challenge, but WWE could do with an all-new match type to really get fans excited again. If Triple H can stumble upon the next Royal Rumble for the company, then his power and position at the top of WWE will surely be assured, at least until next Christmas.
