Enzo Amore Health Update; Pulled From Live Events Through May 20

TJR Wrestling

At last night’s WWE Payback event, Enzo Amore and his tag partner Colin Cassady faced off against The Vaudevillains. The match was to determine the #1 contenders for The New Day’s WWE Tag Team Titles. Enzo suffered a concussion during the match when Simon Gotch tried throwing him under the ropes to the outside the ring. Instead, Enzo’s head slammed against the second rope causing him to land weird at ringside. The match was ruled a no contest due to Enzo being incapable of continuing.

There was a lot of scare among fellow wrestlers and viewers of Payback when Enzo got hurt. He was not moving, looked to be gasping for air, and was carried away on a stretcher. Cole informed Payback viewers later in the night that Enzo suffered a concussion, but that all other test came back negative. He was discharged from the local Chicago hospital he was staying at that night.

The Wrestling Observer reported that those close to Enzo classified his concussion as severe. WWE has removed Enzo from all of his scheduled live event appearances through May 20. He’s currently scheduled for live events past May 20, but he’ll likely be removed from appearances past then as well. Cass is still scheduled for live event appearances through May 20.

Best of luck in your recovery, Enzo!
