Dates For WWE Cruiserweight Classic Announced

World Wrestling Entertainment will be debuting a brand-new program this summer centered around Cruiserweight wrestlers titled, WWE Cruiserweight Classic. It’s premiere will be airing July 13 on the WWE Network and the shows will be taped rather than live.

Today, WWE officially announced the dates in which the tapings for the Cruiserweight Classic will occur. Those dates are as follows: June 23, July 14, August 27 and September 14. As Triple H announced in a tweet today, tickets for these tapings will be going on sale this Friday at 10:00 am EST. For more ticket information, visit NXTickets.com.

The Cruiserweight Classic will see 32 wrestlers under 205 pounds face off at Full Sail University in Orlando, Florida to “vie for the right to call themselves the best cruiserweight in the world.”

Qualifying matches for this tournament have been going on for a while now across various wrestling promotions, and the names of those who have qualified so far include: Zack Sabre Jr, Johnny Gargano, Tommaso Ciampa, Rich Swann, Akira Tozawa, Drew Gulak, Noam Dar, TJ Perkins, Jack Gallagher, Ho Ho Lun and Lince Dorado.
