Chris Jericho: “I Am Banned from WWE”; Claims That WWE Won’t Allow Their Superstars on His Podcast

Chris Jericho is definitely one of the best superstars in WWE history that won everything there is to run during his nearly 20 year run in the company, but now that he has moved on to All Elite Wrestling, Jericho’s relationship with WWE has changed as well.

According to Jericho’s comments on a recent Talk is Jericho podcast, the future WWE Hall of Famer noted that he is now “banned” from WWE…at least to some degree.

Here is some of what Jericho said on his podcast about WWE with thanks to Ringside News for the quotes:

“I’ve talked with him a couple of times but I’m kind of public enemy number 1 there now. I’ve been kind of removed from the annals of history.”

“I asked the other day if I could have a couple of their (WWE) guys on my podcast to promote Mania and I was told ‘no, it’s not appropriate because you’re in AEW.’ I am banned from WWE.”

“I know that they had to take some videos down from UpUpDownDown of me playing. They edited some stuff from the Edge and Christian Show that had my name on it.”

Jericho’s deal with AEW is for three years, which he stated in interviews shortly after he signed. That means it will be at least 2022 until we might see Jericho involved with WWE again.

TJR Thoughts: It’s not a surprise that WWE would “ban” Jericho from talking to WWE superstars on his podcast. Yes, Jericho had a long tenure in WWE and is a living legend, but when you work for a company like AEW then that means things have changed.

While AEW has yet to run a show using those letters, their debut “Double or Nothing” event on May 25th is considered a big deal. Plus, WWE knows that some of their talents are unhappy with their spot right now and since AEW is reportedly paying its wrestlers very well, a lot of current WWE guys/girls could be viewing as AEW as a next step should they become free agents.

I want AEW to succeed and Jericho being there makes me want to watch it too. I’m sure I’m not alone in saying that.

I guess you can say Chris is on “The List” now? Too soon.
