Bianca Belair’s Reaction After Shocking SummerSlam Loss – “I Feel Defeated”

Becky Lynch challenges Bianca Belair

Bianca Belair has spoken out about losing the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship to Becky Lynch at SummerSlam in only 27 seconds.

Belair was scheduled to face Sasha Banks at the ‘Biggest Party of the Summer’, but it was revealed at the event that ‘The Boss’ was unable to compete. Carmella was initially announced as Banks’ replacement for the match, but then Becky Lynch’s music hit and ‘The Man’ made her way to the ring to stake her claim on the title match, quickly taking care of Carmella before facing off with the ‘EST’ of WWE. Lynch asked the crowd if they wanted to see her challenge for the SmackDown Women’s Championship and Belair accepted, but would soon regret her decision.

Lynch defeated Belair in for the pinfall with a strike and a modified Rock Bottom, which Michael Cole labelled the ‘Manhandle Slam’, beginning her fourth reign with the championship in the process.

Speaking to Denise Selcado of Instinct Culture, Belair revealed that she feels defeated following the events of the night. She noted that it was bittersweet as she got to face a “legend in the making”, but she lost her title because of it.

“Right now, I’m just trying to collect my thoughts. Everything happened too quickly. I was ready to fight Sasha Banks, and Becky came out, which was an amazing moment. I’m happy to be a part of that, but I lost my title, and right now, I’m just emotional. I feel defeated. It was bittersweet, Becky Lynch, what she has accomplished inside and outside the ring. She is a legend in the making.”

The now-former champion went on to say that, while she’s sad about what happened, she’s ready for a rematch and believes she deserves one.

“You can hear the pop from the crowd. It’s nothing like you’ve ever felt before. So, to be in the ring and feel all of that was amazing, but at the same time, I was the SmackDown Women’s Champion, and I know she was coming for my title. I can’t help but be a little sad about the situation and just ready to get in there and get my rematch because I deserve a rematch.”

Belair finished the interview with a warning for Lynch, stating that she’s going to fight to regain the championship.

“You know, just hearing Becky Lynch’s name and the SmackDown Women’s champion in the same sentence makes me a little hyped up right now. I’m swaying back and forth. It makes me feel a certain way. I want my rematch. I’m going to go all in. I’m going to fight. I call myself the EST of WWE for a reason.”

Becky Lynch wasn’t the only major return at SummerSlam, as Brock Lesnar sent shockwaves through WWE when he came back to confront Roman Reigns to end the night following Reigns’ defeat of John Cena.
