Bianca Belair Reportedly “In Good Spirits” After SummerSlam Title Loss

When Becky Lynch returned to WWE at SummerSlam The Man provided two surprises in one. Not only was Lynch back in a WWE ring after 16 months away, she also defeated Bianca Belair to claim the SmackDown Women’s Championship in a matter of seconds.

While many fans were happy to see Lynch back, some were not so happy to see Belair lose her championship in such a shocking fashion. The disappointment was also shared by WWE Hall of Famers Booker T and Nikki Bella who were both frustrated by the move.

A new report has shed some light on the reaction backstage to Lynch’s quick-fire win. The report from Fightful Select said that Belair appeared in “good spirits” despite the negative reaction online. Her reaction and attitude were applauded by WWE Officials who noted that she quickly attended the red carpet after-party and took part in a number of media commitments.

The report also notes that the reaction from others ranged from shock to not being surprised at all.

“Bianca Belair is widely known as a professional, who makes the best out of every situation she’s put in creatively. Another source we spoke to said they believe there is an actual plan in motion for this story.”

On August 27th Becky Lynch returned to SmackDown to address her return and shocking championship win. Lynch discussed how hard she had worked to get back before leaning into her heel turn by saying that she had nothing to apologize for.

This brought out the former champion who laid down a challenge for Lynch on SmackDown. Before Lynch could respond the pair were interrupted by Zelina Vega, then Carmella and finally Liv Morgan.

All four women made their case while Belair directly challenged Lynch again, who simply said no.

The result was a Fatal-4-Way match which was won by Bianca Belair. With her victory Belair earned an opportunity to try and win back the SmackDown Women’s Championship.
