Betting Odds for 2019 WWE Royal Rumble, Who Are Favorites in Men’s and Women’s Rumble Matches?

TJR Wrestling

Here’s a look at WWE Royal Rumble betting odds for the big event on January 27. The odds come from BetOnline.AG.

If you’re not familiar with betting, the favorites are the ones with the “-” before the number and the underdogs are the “+” numbers. When it comes to the favorites, you need to wager $100 to win that amount, so if it is -220 then you would bet $220 to win $100. For the underdogs or anything with a “+” (like the Rumble match), if you bet $100 you win the amount shown. There’s no listing for the Cruiserweight Title match yet.

Another thing to keep in mind for title matches is that a team could win the match by countout or disqualification and not leave with the titles, but they would be the winner of that match.

Smackdown Tag Team Titles: The Bar vs. The Miz and Shane McMahon
The Miz & Shane McMahon: -175
The Bar: +135

TJR Thoughts: I think a title change is very possible just to put over this Miz and Shane team that probably won’t last that long. I can see them losing the titles soon after, then splitting up leading to a WrestleMania match between them.

Smackdown Women’s Title: Asuka vs. Becky Lynch
Asuka: -200
Becky Lynch: +150

TJR Thoughts: I think Becky is going to be in a match with Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania whether she’s a champion or not, so it’s tough to say how this will go. Since Asuka just won the title at TLC last month, most people will assume she will retain the title

Raw Women’s Title: Ronda Rousey vs. Sasha Banks
Ronda Rousey: -1500
Sasha Banks: +575

TJR Thoughts: Those are big odds for Rousey to retain, which is not a surprise. Most people will expect Rousey to keep the title while Banks puts up a good fight in defeat.

WWE Title: Daniel Bryan vs. AJ Styles
Daniel Bryan: -350
AJ Styles: +225

TJR Thoughts: Those odds don’t surprise me at all. Styles held the WWE Title for over a year and there’s no reason to put it back on him. Bryan is very entertaining as the “Planet’s Champion” and I hope this heel run as champion lasts a long time. I think betting on Bryan to retain is a safe bet. Styles is rumored to face Randy Orton at WrestleMania since they have yet to have a feud.

Raw Universal Title: Brock Lesnar vs. Braun Strowman
Brock Lesnar: -450
Braun Strowman: +275

TJR Thoughts: We have covered in the past that Lesnar vs. Rollins is the plan for WrestleMania 35 likely for the Universal Title. That plan could change and it’s possible it would be a non-title match too. I think the odds favoring Lesnar retaining the title shows that the oddsmakers believe that Lesnar vs. Rollins is still the plan. I think so too.

Stone Cold Steve Austin +10000
Titus O’Neil +10000
Xavier Woods +10000

TJR Thoughts: I think they got the top names right with Rollins as the favorite. He has moved on from the Intercontinental Title, so let’s see what he can do going after the Universal Title as the Rumble winner. Guys like Finn Balor and Drew McIntyre should do well. I would rank John Cena in the top four just because of the story of him going after his record 17th WWE Title (that counts various World Titles in WWE history) would be interesting. Plus, I don’t know who Daniel Bryan would face at WrestleMania, so Cena makes for a good choice.

Two of the most interesting names are pretty high up: The Rock and Kenny Omega. In Rock’s case, there have been rumors that he might be in the Rumble, win it and challenge a champion at WrestleMania. When Roman Reigns was active, the rumor of Rock winning to challenge Reigns was a strong one. I don’t know how legit it was, though. Since WrestleMania is in the New York area (New Jersey is close enough) it’s possible that Rock may want to be involved. Plus, he’s producing the story about Paige’s life with WWE, so I could see him getting involved.

As for Omega, I don’t think he’s going to WWE because he’s probably headed to All Elite Wrestling. Even if he was going to WWE, I don’t think his New Japan deal expires before January 31, which means he wouldn’t be in the Rumble.

There are some names on here featuring guys that aren’t going to be in the match like Steve Austin, who retired from wrestling 16 years ago. They still list him in odds like these every year because some people migth be willing to bet on him. I wouldn’t, but somebody might do it.

Women’s Royal Rumble Winner
Charlotte Flair -250
Becky Lynch +300
Alexa Bliss +1600
Ember Moon +1600
Shayna Baszler +2000
Mandy Rose +2500
Ronda Rousey +3300
Sasha Banks +4000
Asuka +5000
Naomi +5000
Nia Jax +5000
Bayley +6600
Carmella +6600
Kairi Sane +6600
Natalya +6600
Nikki Bella +6600
Mickie James +8000
Ruby Riott +8000
Sonya Deville +8000
Stephanie McMahon +8000
Trish Stratus +8000
Alicia Fox +10000
Bianca Belair +10000
Billie Kay +10000
Brie Bella +10000
Candice LeRae +10000
Dakota Kai +10000
Deonna Purrazzo +10000
Io Shirai +10000
Jessamyn Duke +10000
Lacey Evans +10000
Lana +10000
Lita +10000
Liv Morgan +10000
Marina Shafir +10000
Maryse +10000
Mia Yim +10000
Michelle McCool +10000
Nikki Cross +10000
Peyton Royce +10000
Rhea Ripley +10000
Sarah Logan +10000
Tamina +10000
Taynara Conti +10000
Toni Storm +10000
Vanessa Borne +10000
Zelina Vega +10000

TJR Thoughts: I think Charlotte or Becky will win and if either of them doesn’t win, I would be very surprised. I know that Becky has the title shot against Asuka, but if she fails in that match then she can be in the Rumble the way guys like Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins were in last year’s Rumble even though they were in matches earlier in the night. I think WrestleMania will be Lynch vs. Flair vs. Rousey, but I don’t know if that means it will be a tie from Lynch and Flair.

The thought of somebody “newer” winning like Ember Moon or Mandy Rose is a nice thought, but I don’t see it happening this year. Maybe next year.

They also have odds for things like most eliminations in the Rumble, who will last the longest time in the Rumble match and final four in the Rumble. I won’t post them here, but you can check them out at BetOnline now. We will post bedding odds again as we get closer to the Rumble, so that next betting odds post will be the week of the Rumble.

The 2019 Royal Rumble takes place on Sunday, Jan. 27, at 7 ET/4 PT, streaming live on the award-winning WWE Network.
