Bayley Staying In NXT For Now; WWE Main Roster Debut Was A “One-Time Thing”

TJR Wrestling

Last night’s WWE Battleground pay-per-view event kicked off with the women’s tag team match which saw Charlotte and Dana Brooke take on Sasha Banks and a partner of Banks’ choosing. Banks did not make it known as to who her “mystery partner” would be prior to the match last night and said we’d just have to wait until Battleground to see. Banks’ “mystery partner” ended up being the woman she lost her NXT Women’s Title to, Bayley.

Banks stated previously that her partner at Battleground would not be Bayley, but as she alludes to in the video below, it was to keep the surprise. In the below post-match interview, Bayley says that her main-roster debut was a one-time thing and she’s focused on reclaiming the NXT Women’s Championship. During her match last night too, John Bradshaw Layefield also said that according to his “sources” this was a one-time thing for Bayley.

Mark’s reaction: Bayley will likely be on the main roster for good after SummerSlam. She’ll probably have her rematch with Asuka for the NXT Women’s Title at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn II (which is the night before SummerSlam) and then be called up to either Raw or Smackdown in September when the next round of NXT call-ups will reportedly be happening.

It still doesn’t make any sense that Raw or Smackdown wouldn’t have drafted her last Tuesday in the Brand Extension Draft. However, her time will come soon enough.
