AEW News: This Wednesday’s Episode of Dynamite (Dec. 30) Will Celebrate the Life of Jon Huber (Mr. Brodie Lee)

The death of Jon Huber has rocked the wrestling world over the last few days. In case you missed the awful news, Huber’s wife Amanda shared on Instagram that Jon died due to a non-COVID related lung issue. We have seen an outpouring of support from his former colleagues in WWE (where he was Luke Harper) and those that worked with him this year in AEW (where he was Brodie Lee) as well. Earlier this year, Lee won the TNT Title from Cody and then on October 7, Lee had his last match when he dropped the TNT Title to Cody in an entertaining Dog Collar Match.

To honor Brodie Lee’s memory, AEW announced that this Wednesday’s edition of Dynamite will be a tribute show celebrating the life of Mr. Brodie Lee, who was also called the Exalted One of the Dark Order stable.

Here are the tweets from AEW’s Owner/President (also the booker) Tony Khan announcing the plans for this week’s show and going forward.

Here’s a summary of the matches we will see on Dynamite this week:

* Mr. Brodie Lee’s son Brodie provided a list of his favorite wrestlers that will team up together: Cody Rhodes, Orange Cassidy and Preston “10” Vance vs. Team Taz (Brian Cage, Ricky Starks and Powerhouse Hobbs)

* Young Bucks and Colt Cabana vs. Matt Hardy and Private Party

* “Hangman” Adam Page, Jon Silver and Alex Reynolds vs. MJF, Santana and Ortiz

* Anna Jay and Tay Conti vs. Dr. Britt Baker and Penelope Ford

* Lance Archer, Evil Uno and Stu Grayson vs. Eddie Kingston, The Butcher and The Blade

One of the matches announced for Dynamite was Kenny Omega defending the AEW World Title against Rey Fenix this Wednesday. That will be moved back one week to the following week on January 6th.

TJR Thoughts: I think it’s a great call by AEW. I look forward to watching it, shedding a few tears as they honor their friend Jon Huber and reviewing it as well.
