AEW News: Taz Signs Multi-Year Contract

TJR Wrestling

It’s been a busy week of announcement for All Elite Wrestling. After announcing yesterday that they have signed a four year extension to keep AEW Dynamite on TNT until 2023 along with bringing the one hour show AEW Dark to television very soon, AEW was still not done making announcements. Today, AEW announced that they have signed former ECW and WWE superstar and WWE and TNA commentator Taz to a multi-year contract.

Taz has commentated on AEW Dark several times in the past, and would be a great addition to that show when it premieres on television or wherever AEW chooses to use him.

Taz announced early today that his podcast known as The Taz Show was on hiatus until further notice.

After signing the contract with AEW, Taz stated “Looks like I’ve joined a revolution … again.”

The current AEW announce team for Dynamite is Jim Ross, Tony Schiavone and Excalibur. It’s not known if Taz would join the broadcast team for Dynamite or be used for Dark only or have some other role in the company.

Matt’s Musings: Congratulations to Taz on the new multi-year contract. With AEW’s new lucrative TV contract, I fully suspect that Taz will not be the last signing they make.
