WWE: Update On Roman Reigns, Bray Wyatt & Bo Dallas sickness, Kevin Owens dealing with family matter

TJR Wrestling

The story of WWE stars missing in action was obviously biggest stories as the Raw brand presented TLC last night. Read my full review of that show here. Now that they got through TLC with Kurt Angle filling in for Roman Reigns and AJ Styles filling in for Bray Wyatt, the question is when are Roman, Bray and Bo Dallas coming back? Here’s what we know.

It was reported by Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio that the sickness Reigns is dealing with is the mumps and that he will be re-evaluated by WWE next Monday, October 30. Obviously, Reigns won’t be back on Raw tonight, but if that evaluation goes well next week then perhaps he’ll be on that show. Even if Reigns is fine after that evaluation, WWE may bring him back to TV on the November 6 Raw in order to give him time to get back to full health. A report from Pro Wrestling Sheet says that Reigns should be ready for Survivor Series.

As for the brother duo of Bray Wyatt and Bo Dallas, they will also be evaluated by WWE’s doctors next Monday, October 30. The previous illness mentioned by numerous sources was viral meningitis, so perhaps that is what they have. It was also revealed by Meltzer and others that Roman often travels with Bray since they are good friends.

On Friday, WWE released this statement.

“We have confirmed that three of our performers have been diagnosed with a viral infection. As a precautionary measure, we are ensuring in-ring performers and staff are tested and immunized in accordance with recommended medical guidelines.”

At TLC last night, WWE’s announce team mentioned that Reigns and Wyatt had “viral infections” without going into the specifics of what they are.

In other WWE talent news, Kevin Owens flew home from Smackdown’s South America tour to be with his family. Owens tweeted this on Saturday.

It’s not known what the family issue is, but we all hope it’s nothing too serious and Owens can be back on the road with WWE soon. According to Meltzer’s update on Sunday, there’s no timetable for when Owens may return.
