WWE: Roman Reigns’ Suspension Is Over; News On What Drug Caused Wellness Violation

TJR Wrestling

Thirty days ago, three-time WWE Champion Roman Reigns was suspended by the WWE for violating the company’s Wellness Policy. The news broke just one day after it was announced Roman Reigns would take on his former Shield brothers, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose, for the WWE Championship in a triple-threat match at Battleground on July 24.

Reigns, typically a consistent Twitter user, has had radio silence since the shocking suspension with his apology lingering as his only tweet for the past 30 days.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, Reigns was nailed for testing positive for Adderall — a stimulant that is banned in several other sports leagues as well due to its slight performance-enhancing capabilities.

One of WWE’s most polarizing talents, Roman Reigns will return this Sunday to once again try to claim the WWE Championship on behalf of Monday Night Raw, where he was drafted on Tuesday’s Smackdown Live. His first match back will actually be on Saturday at a WWE live event in Wildwood, New Jersey.

Mike’s Analysis: Admittedly, I’m looking forward to seeing how much Reigns gets booed on Sunday. Before the suspension, he was already arguably getting the hottest boos in the entire company after embracing a bit of a tweener role rather than the oblivious baby face who pretends he’s not getting jeers. I’m not a big Roman Reigns fan, but he does add a good presence to WWE television and can provide good matches with the right opponent.

I’m glad he’s back, let’s just hope he doesn’t win the title, though.
