WWE News: Seven Man Gauntlet Match Announced For Raw on Feb. 19

TJR Wrestling

A huge match was announced for WWE Monday Raw on February 19 in Phoenix featuring the seven men that will compete in the Elimination Chamber match on February 25th. The seven men will compete in a Gauntlet Match, which means two guys start, once somebody loses, the next man goes in and it goes on until one man gets the deciding pinfall as the winner of the match.

Here’s a preview of the match from WWE.com:

For the first time ever, seven Superstars will compete inside the Elimination Chamber next Sunday, with the winner going on to challenge Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania. However, this Monday night on Raw, those same Superstars will square off in a huge Gauntlet Match ahead of their history making Chamber clash, WWE.com can confirm.

With only six days to go until WWE Elimination Chamber, how will John Cena, Roman Reigns, Braun Strowman, Seth Rollins, Finn Bálor, Elias and Intercontinental Champion The Miz physically and mentally react to the grueling nature of a Gauntlet Match? And which Superstar will try to make the ultimate statement by running the gauntlet, proving both their staying power and endurance as they all aim to head into the Elimination Chamber with massive momentum? Find out this Monday night on Raw.

Finn Balor seems excited about it.

Hit the gym, pal.

TJR Thoughts: It’s a big match that should take a lot of time – something like 30-40 minutes in the main event of the show. It also ties up seven big names on Raw, so it’s going to be interesting to see how they fill the rest of the show.

As for a winner of this match, I think anybody other than Roman Reigns is a likely winner since Reigns will probably win at Elimination Chamber, so there’s no reason for him to win this match too. I think it makes sense to have Strowman win to try to tell the story of how dominant he was in this match and how it’s going to be tough to beat him in the Elimination Chamber.

My pick at Elimination Chamber is Roman Reigns, of course. I don’t see WWE going against their planned Reigns vs. Lesnar match at WrestleMania.
