WWE News: Seth Rollins Announces He’s In The Royal Rumble

TJR Wrestling

Seth Rollins, a former two time-WWE Champion, announced on Twitter on Monday afternoon that he will be a part of the 30-man Royal Rumble match on Sunday, January 29 at San Antonio’s Alamadome.

Other names officially announced for the Royal Rumble are: Brock Lesnar, Bill Goldberg, Chris Jericho, Braun Strowman, Baron Corbin, Big E, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods. There should be plenty more names announced on Raw and Smackdown Live this week.

Also, even though the event is expected to be four hours long, it appears as though they will stick with 30 competitors for the match. I think that’s the right move.

TJR Thoughts: Will Rollins win? I doubt it. He’s likely going to face Triple H at WrestleMania 33. The expectation is that Triple H will show up, cost Rollins the win by either eliminating him from the match itself or causing Rollins to be eliminated.

While it’s very possible that Rollins could win a Royal Rumble one day since he has a very bright future, it’s probably not going to be this year. At least his presence will add to the star power.

Even though he won’t win the Rumble, at least he beat Rich Swann in a UFC video game while using CM Punk. That sounds impressive to me.
